Dundee Etsy Craft Party

If you havn't heard, it's Etsy's fifth birthday this June 18th- and to celebrate there are Etsy Craft Parties springing up all over the world- bringing together Etsy shop-holders and crafty folks alike!

And the really fanstastic news is that Jen and I at Dundee Jamboree are hosting Dundee's very own Etsy Craft Party! We're so pleased to be hosting our Craft Party at the amazing Dundee Contemporary Arts on Friday the 18th of June at 7.30pm.

Bring along your own crafts to keep you busy, or try one of our DIY mini-projects whilst enjoying good cake and plenty of tea. Whether you're a beginner in the world of handmade or a seasoned craft fanatic we'd love you to come along- learn some new skills, or just get together with other like-minded folks.

If we're amongst the the top 50 Craft Parties in the world (and we're currently number 15!) we'll receive loads of Etsy party goodies for us to enjoy on the night- but we can't do this without your help. We need you to confirm that you're coming along by RSVPing here.

All welcome- if you're under 16 please bring along a responsible adult to join in the craft fun!

Success and Rest

I'm just beginning to catch up after Monday's Big Top Jamboree, and the rest of this week's excitement! Monday's workshops were great fun, and I had loads of lovely folks come to visit me to make some amazing badges.

We had an excellent turn-out for our evening event, with an incredible effort being made by every one of our exhibiting artists and a truly exciting collection of work on show. For more photos of the night have a look on the Jamboree Flickr as well as checking out the video which was put together by Jon Gill of Superfly, as part of a new Superfly-on-the-wall series. which includes a wee interview from me!

Thank you: to everybody who volunteered; who came along to our workshops; to our amazing musicians and video artists; to those who contributed to the Work-Shop stall; to our stall-holders; and everybody who came along and enjoyed the atmosphere- we couldn't have done it without you.

Tights for Sore Eyes Mini-Zine

Danni and I have been working really hard to get our new idea ready for sale at Big Top Jamboree.

Welcome- the Tights For Sore Eyes mini-zine! These little beauties are full of our sketches, ideas, pictures of our tights being made, and lovely fashion photos of our work decorating some legs! Each book is hand cut and stitched together. You'll be able to find them if you look carefully around Dundee and Glasgow- follow Danni and Myself on twitter for some sneaky clues as to where you can get yours.

We've also set up a brand new Folksy Shop, where our tights will be available to by online very soon.

Tights For Sore Eyes

I've recently been working on a new project with my cousin Danni McWilliams- which I've been trying very hard to keep under-wraps! I've known Danni since we were we'ans and have had a great few weeks working with her! Danni graduated from Heriot Watt with an honours Degree in Fashion Design, Marketing and Retailing in 2009 and is currently preparing to create her own fashion line.

We've recently collaborated on a new range of hand screen-printed tights- Tights for Sore Eyes! After a jam-packed 2 day printing session at the DCA Print Studio we've produced an edition of 25 pairs of tights, each completely unique in colour and design- a treat for the legs, and a feast for the eyes!

Our new tights will be available to buy at The Big Top Jamboree (Just in time for that all-important Degree show outfit!) this 17th of May in Drouthy's basement, and also to Folksy and Etsy very, very soon.
